Dr. John Beals Jr.
Senior Pastor
Pastor John was born and raised in Brockton, MA. He first trusted Christ as a child, and grew in the Lord during his teen years. God led Pastor John to attend college at South Carolina's Bob Jones University. While a student at BJU, he met Robin (Davis); they married shortly after graduation. Pastor John and Robin have two children, Zachary and Alexandra.
Pastor John has faithfully ministered at IBC since 1986. God has gifted him with an ability to clearly communicate God's Word through teaching and expository preaching.
Pastor John holds a Doctor of Pastoral Theology degree from Bob Jones University, as well as a Master of Ministry, and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible.
Dr. Jack Beals
Pastor Emeritus
Born and raised in Brockton, MA, Pastor Beals married Corinne (Celia), also of Brockton, after high school. In his early thirties, while working to support his young family, Pastor Beals began to recognize the emptiness of life without God. He turned to Christ as his savior, and began a life of pursuing God. Years later, as a full time accountant and father of four, God led Pastor Beals into the pastoral ministry. In July 1984, Immanuel Baptist Church was formed.
Known for his loving and practical preaching, Pastor Beals faithfully ministered as head pastor until March of 2001. Today Pastor Beals continues to serve the Lord and the IBC family as Pastor Emeritus.
Pastor Beals holds the following degrees: BSA, Bentley College; MBA, Western New England College; MRE, ThD, Anderson Baptist Theological Seminary; DMIN, Bethany Seminary.
Mr. Brian Hanson
Minister of Music, Ministry Development
Born in Wisconsin, Brian travelled considerably during his upbringing. While still young, living in Colorado, Brian trusted in the finished work of Jesus as his Savior from sin. God eventually led Brian to study music and Bible at South Carolina's Bob Jones University, where he met Johanna (Bixby). They married during their time in graduate school. Brian and Johanna have a son, Stefan.
A gifted musician, Brian is responsible for all aspects of IBC's Music Ministry, and plays an important role in Ministry Development.
He holds a Master of Arts in Bible, a Master of Music in Piano Performance, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance.
Mr. Peter Beals
Church Business, Youth Ministry
Also from Brockton, Peter Beals first trusted in Christ as a young child. During his high school years, Peter met Sarah (Harju) of Middleboro; they married shortly after college. Peter worked in business for twelve years before God led him to work at IBC full time in 2003. Peter and Sarah have five children: Rebekah, Emily, Matthew, Holly, and Hope.
Peter is responsible for church business and youth ministry. Before coming to IBC's staff, Peter and Sarah served as youth ministry volunteers since 1992.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
